Mira Mesa area

Mira Mesa was originally established in the 1950s as a residential area for the nearby Naval Air Station to the south. The area runs across the south edge of the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, and is between routes I-15 and I-5.

It is within good commuting distance of UCSD, although traffic can be heavy during the morning and evening commutes.  Similar to the University City area, many students elect to rent private homes or condos, although there are a few apartment units available as well.
